Three arrests after dismantling drug network in Venray

The police have dismantled a drug network in Venray, arresting three suspects and seizing large quantities of cocaine, weed, hashish and cash.

Red-handed

In January, a 26-year-old man from Venray was caught red-handed during a drug deal, during which dozens of pony packs containing cocaine were found. After interrogation, the suspect was temporarily released, but his phones were confiscated.

Two buildings

In the following months, police conducted tactical and technical investigations, including examining the seized phones. The investigation then led to two buildings in Venray. During the search, several kilos of hard drugs, an active cannabis farm and a significant amount of packaging material for drugs were found.

The resident of the ‘stash building’, a 33-year-old man from Venray, was arrested and an administrative report was provided to the municipality. The drugs found were then examined for DNA, which led to the identification of the previously arrested dealer, who resided at an address in Venray.

125,000 euros

A further search was carried out here, which resulted in the discovery of large quantities of cocaine, cannabis and hashish and more than 125,000 euros in cash, which were seized. A third suspect was arrested, a 23-year-old woman from Venray. The police do not report exactly how much coke and soft drugs were found.

The two male suspects have now been remanded in custody by the examining magistrate. The female suspect is no longer in custody, but is still a suspect in the case, the police said on Friday.
