The 22-year-old victim of the shooting on Talmastraat in Katwijk died of his injuries on Sunday. The man had been in hospital since he was found seriously injured on Sunday, May 21. A 24-year-old man from Katwijk was arrested the same day on suspicion of involvement in the shooting incident. He was released on Tuesday, but is still a suspect in the case.
In the night from Saturday 20 to Sunday 21 May, the 22-year-old victim from Katwijk was found seriously injured at 04.45 on Talmastraat. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was rushed to hospital. He passed away today from his injuries.
Suspect
As a result of the shooting incident, a Large Scale Investigation Team (TGO) was set up under the leadership of the public prosecutor. A 24-year-old Katwijker was arrested as a suspect the same day. He was released on Tuesday, but is still a suspect in the case. According to the detective, the investigation is in full swing, more arrests cannot be ruled out.
Nothing is known about a motive.
