She is already 76, but can still take care of herself. We see Mireille Bekooij walking behind her shopping cart at the supermarket in Huizen. She loads her food and large pack of toilet paper into the car herself. She cherishes the freedom it gives her to be able to move around in her practical, small cart. The retired presenter walks slightly stooped and the years are starting to show in her famous face, but she still manages well.
She has accepted that Mireille has reached an age where certain adjustments and changes are part of life. She was relieved and happy last April, when the former ‘Koffietijd’ presenter sold her farmhouse in Laren. She had to lower the price a few times to achieve this. Mireille started with an asking price of 1,295,000 euros, then dropped to 1,195,000 euros and ultimately set an asking price of 1,095,000 euros. She purchased the beautiful farmhouse in 1995 for 204,000 euros and mortgaged it for 340,000 euros. With a profit of over seven thousand euros, Mireille can easily pay for her groceries for the time being!
