Rosmalen – An argument in a house on the Wethouder van der Valkstraat in Rosmalen escalated into a stabbing incident this morning. A 15-year-old girl was stabbed. Her mother and her husband were also injured. The 75-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the stabbing incident. Both the daughter and the 75-year-old suspect are being treated in hospital for their injuries. Detectives are investigating the circumstances.
Stabbing incident
Officers received a report of a stabbing incident at a home in an apartment complex on Wethouder van der Valkstraat in Rosmalen around 6:00 AM. Three people were involved in the incident, including the two residents of the home (15, 48 yrs.). The 15-year-old woman appeared to have suffered a stab wound, but she was still conscious. She was taken to hospital and is out of danger. Her 48-year-old mother suffered minor head injuries.
Investigation and arrest
The police immediately started an investigation into this stabbing incident and, based on that initial investigation, arrested a 75-year-old man from Rosmalen on suspicion of involvement in the stabbing incident. The suspect was in the stairwell of the apartment complex and also appeared to be injured. He was taken to the hospital under police guard and will be locked up at the police station for further investigation and questioning after treatment.
Extensive (track and neighborhood) investigations are being conducted in the home and the location where the suspect was found to clarify what exactly happened.
The suspect is the husband of the 48-year-old resident. What we know now is that there was an argument between the 48-year-old resident and her husband in the house before the stabbing incident. It seems that the 15-year-old girl intervened and that she then suffered a stab wound.
