Your role:
As an IT auditor you have a key role in the internal control of IT risks. To this end, you provide solicited and unsolicited advice about the organization and internal control of the municipality, and you continuously contribute to reports on the basis of which the Management Board makes decisions. As a team, we enable the group controller to answer the question: ‘Are we doing the right things and are we doing them well?’ As an IT auditor in the vibrant Brainport region where data-driven working and innovative techniques such as process mining are embraced, you will never be bored. You are encouraged, in collaboration with our data analysts and concern auditors, to work with the latest tools and methodologies to make your work even more effective. This way you can think about the use of innovative analysis techniques, allowing you to generate valuable insights and make effective recommendations.

As an IT auditor at the Audit & Testing department within the Control sector, you are responsible for the following activities:

  • You assess the municipal information systems for the third-line audits for which Audit & Toetsing is responsible;
  • You provide advice on areas for improvement and further development in the internal control of the IT environment within the organization;
  • You are the point of contact on the subject of IT auditing for the external accountant during the interim and annual account audit.

As an IT auditor you work together with your colleagues at Audit & Toetsing, but also with colleagues in various domains and sectors and with the external accountant. This makes it a varied and versatile position where every organizational unit of the municipality will come your way at some point.

Colleague Patrick van Zon, senior concern auditor (including) IT Audit: “When you choose the municipality of Eindhoven, you choose a close-knit team in which colleagues from different disciplines work closely together. The atmosphere is good, and the ambitions of the organization provide plenty of room for creating added value in the IT field.”

Who do you do that with?
You will work in the Audit & Testing department. Various types of expertise and activities are bundled within the department: specialized internal controls in the context of financial accountability, IT audits, data analyses, investigations and file review. It is an enthusiastic team consisting of colleagues with diverse backgrounds and previous education.

Audit & Toetsing’s vision is that we can best serve the organization by using integrated audits. The various disciplines within the team work together optimally in a data-driven approach. IT audits have so far not been sufficiently integrated into our audits. That is why we now want to work with you to put the IT audit as part of integrated audits on the map in the municipality of Eindhoven and, as a team, make much more use of each other’s knowledge and expertise.

How do you make it happen?

  • You have at least a completed HBO education, such as IT auditing, business economics, accountancy;
  • You are a subject matter expert with at least 2 years of experience in IT auditing;
  • You have extensive independent judgment and advisory skills;
  • You can apply your communication skills at all levels and you have a well-developed sense of administrative, organizational and functional relationships, preferably within a municipality;
  • You have experience with IT audits and an affinity with data-driven working;
  • You are analytically strong with a high degree of process insight;
  • Knowledge of municipal processes and municipal IT applications is an advantage.

What do we offer?
With a job that allows you to have an impact on the city and the municipality of Eindhoven. And an informal organizational culture, where attention is paid to a good work and private balance. You can also count on the employment conditions below.

  • A gross monthly salary between €4,211 and €5,997 based on a 36-hour working week. The exact salary is tailored to the education, knowledge and experience you bring;
  • One year contract. If we are satisfied on both sides, it will be converted into a permanent contract;
  • 27 vacation days per year (if you work full-time). In addition, you can build up ADV days and take a total of approximately 10 weeks of leave per year. If you work part-time, this is of course pro rata;
  • On top of your salary you will receive our Individual Choice Budget of 17.05%. This means that 17.05% of your gross monthly salary is reserved for you every month. You can, for example, use this to purchase days of leave or for a bicycle allowance. You can also have this budget paid out (partly);
  • We will fully reimburse your journey by public transport. Are you traveling by car? Then we have a travel allowance of €0.23 per (commuting distance) kilometer from 7.5 km to 40 km one way. Are you coming by bicycle/e-bike or on foot? Then we reimburse €0.23 per km without maximum. And for every day that you work completely from home, you also receive compensation;
  • A wide range of courses and training through the Eindhoven Academy;
  • Hybrid working: a nice mix of working at one of our locations or from home. We offer (home) work facilities to make your workplace safe and healthy. And for every day that you work completely from home, you receive compensation;
  • Free fruit in our buildings and €20 per month discount on a sports subscription at an affiliated gym;
  • Access to the digital version of the Eindhovens Dagblad and 8 hours per year to participate in social activities that contribute to the city.

What do you stand for?
Eindhoven is the city of innovation, technology, design and, above all, the future. In the heart of our fast-growing city, we work energetically with more than 2,700 colleagues to create a great city in which to live, work and recreate. We stand together for our city with involved residents, partners and social agencies.

Hybrid working is possible for most functions, including this position. Employees will therefore work less from the office and more online. This means less travel time and travel. Do you bring the right expertise, but do you live a little further away? Then we cordially invite you to respond to this great substantive challenge!

We find diversity and inclusion very important. There is room for everyone with us. We are happy with the differences between our employees. We prefer to have them as large as those in our city and region. Because it is precisely because we are different that we realize our big plans together.
