Lekkerkerk – The baby girl who was found in the water at the Schuwacht in Lekkerkerk on Friday March 3 has been given a name: Mirjam van Lekkerkerk. Thursday 16 March Mirjam was buried privately in Lekkerkerk.

On Friday afternoon, March 3, a deceased girl was found at the Schuwacht aan de Lek. Mirjam van Lekkerkerk, as she is now called, was born after a full term pregnancy. Her body was found in a dark gray plastic bag. Research shows that the girl may have been in the water for several weeks before she was found.

Witness call

The period that people could have seen the bag in the water of the Lek is therefore quite long. The mother of the child may therefore not be visibly pregnant for a long time. The police are still urgently looking for people who may have seen something of the child being left behind or that gray plastic bag in the water, which may have been several weeks ago. The police are also concerned whether the mother has received medical care.

Tips after Investigation Programs

As a result of the media attention, we have now received more than 30 tips. Unfortunately, these tips have not yet led to the identity of the baby’s mother or father. So we hope that people will continue to think about who that could be.
