Ziyech visits Promes: 'Shit on justice, shit on war in Ukraine'

Hakim Ziyech finds himself at the center of the discussion after visiting Quincy Promes in Russia. Sjoerd Mossou understands that Chelsea’s thirty-year-old playmaker has come under fire. He tackles the ex-Ajacied firmly.

Ziyech posted, among other things, a photo with Promes with the text ‘Carte Blanche’. “You could call that very loyal. Even when a friend is accused of serious assault and coke trafficking at the highest criminal level, Ziyech apparently does not just drop his buddy’, Mossou begins in his column in the Algemeen Dagblad.

“The accusations of the Public Prosecution Service against Promes, in short: hundreds of kilos of imported coke, possession of weapons, serious assault and close ties with all kinds of notorious drug criminals,” Mossou continues, who finds Ziyech’s public statement of support special, to say the least. That could mean two things. In other words, Ziyech is exactly the ‘stupid boy’ that Marco van Basten saw in him years ago. Or Ziyech has become so cynical, and so disconnected from everyday reality, that he simply gives a shit to the rest of the world.’

‘Shame on justice. Shame on the police. Fuck the war in Ukraine. Shame on his own image. Shame on his exemplary role as a famous footballer too,’ Mossou sums up. The text ‘carte blanche’ is also wrong. “Go ahead, my godly way, boy,” is what you actually say to a friend who is or has been in the darkest depths of the underworld. If that’s your definition of loyalty, then you’ve misunderstood it. Not from the concept of ‘carte blanche’, even less from friendship.’
