The popular youtuber Dennis Schouten says he was injured in a stabbing in a bar in Enschede. The 27-year-old Schouten shares photos of his battered face, which shows a large cut, via Instagram. He has reported aggravated assault.
According to Schouten, the incident happened out of the blue. “I was sitting at the bar with a friend waiting for our drink. Suddenly I was covered in blood. This is the fine you apparently have to pay, in 2023, if you have an opinion in the Netherlands,” says the presenter of juice channel Roddelpraat .
“I take all the risks of my opinion, my work and my program. But what goes on in your sick head when you go into town with a knife. I thank God that I was not stabbed 5 centimeters higher,” said Schouten.
A police spokesperson confirms that there has been an incident of serious assault in the center of Enschede and that first aid has been provided. The spokesman declined to name names. The case is under investigation and no arrests have been made yet.
