The Belgian police are looking for a young Dutchman who stabbed a 41-year-old man in the stomach in Ostend last summer. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries. Investigation Verzocht made images of the stabbing public on Tuesday evening.
Running
According to the police, the suspect is the young-looking man on the camera images. Police estimate him to be around 20 years old or even younger. He was filmed running with a large knife in his right hand.
Arguing over drugs
The 41-year-old man was supposed to buy drugs from the suspect in the center of Ostend on July 24, 2023, but the two got into an argument about the payment. During the scuffle that ensued, the younger man pulled out a serrated knife. He stabbed the victim and started running.
The police suspect that the man left his coat behind in the Leopold Park in Ostend during his flight.
