If it is up to the initiators of Faexit, healthcare will be faxless by the end of 2024. Faexit helps healthcare providers and organizations to switch to safer and cheaper alternatives to exchange data. There will also be a new law that will ban the fax from healthcare.
Playful words like Faexit and anti-faxers give the impression that this is an April 1 joke, but that is not the case. The initiators of the national Faexit project are very serious: healthcare must be faxless by the end of 2024 at the latest. Faexit started in 2022 on the initiative of the Association of Healthcare Providers for Healthcare Communication, Regional Cooperation Organizations of the Netherlands and Healthcare Insurers of the Netherlands. Some doctors and pharmacists are also involved.
