Murder

The woman worked in prostitution and wanted to have her ex-boyfriend murdered. She paid an amount of 11,000 euros for this in 2017 to a man who was willing to do this. Only the man did not carry out the murder, but started to extort her by threatening to tell her family about her double life, and to distribute the recording of the conversation in which she gave the order via social media and send it to the police .

Convicted

But the extortion came true and the man was sentenced to 24 months in prison. The woman was awarded compensation of 11,000 euros by the judge. She also received 6,500 euros from the Violent Crime Compensation Fund for the non-material damage she suffered due to the exploitation by her ex-boyfriend and the later blackmailer.

But the criminal judge decided that she would not get back the 11,000 euros she had paid for carrying out the murder, because there was insufficient evidence.

Paid

In order to get the money back from the man that she had paid him for carrying out the murder and for buying a weapon, she went to civil court. Her argument was that the man had not carried out the murder. The subdistrict court judge ruled that the woman should in principle get her money back, because committing a criminal offense is prohibited and the act should therefore not be committed. Nevertheless, she does not get her money back, because she should not have ordered the murder at all.
