Woman (43) murdered in Belgium, Dutchman (62) arrested near Breda


Police arrested a 62-year-old Dutch man on Monday on suspicion of involvement in the death of a 43-year-old woman in the Belgian village of Beerzel (province of Antwerp). The victim was found lifeless in her home. She died as a result of a crime. The victim and suspect were married.

Extradition

The 43-year-old woman was found dead on Sunday night in an apartment complex on the Aarschotbaan in Beerzel (municipality of Putte). The man fled to the Netherlands and was arrested on Monday morning on the A58 at the Ulvenhout exit in the direction of Breda. He is being held on suspicion of murder and the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office has requested his extradition.

Nothing further is known about a motive for the violent incident in the relational sphere.
