A 36-year-old woman was seriously injured in a stabbing on Pastoor Petersstraat in Eindhoven on Saturday night around 3 a.m. She was taken to hospital in a serious condition, where she died during the night. Two men from Eindhoven were arrested on Sunday, who had reported to the police independently of each other.
The victim is a 36-year-old Turkish/Bulgarian woman who was probably staying in Eindhoven, the police reported on Sunday.
A major criminal investigation established that the victim walked on foot from Stratumseind to Pastoor Petersstraat together with a man, one of the suspects later arrested. There they found the second man, who is now suspected of having inflicted the fatal stabs.
The reason for this is being investigated. The other suspect was released after questioning during the evening. He is no longer a suspect.
One of the suspects turned himself in to the Belgian police. He was arrested there upon request and a request will be made for the suspect’s surrender. The other suspect reported to an Eindhoven police station. The police investigated the home of one of the men in Kruisstraat.
The investigation team carried out, among other things, trace evidence at the crime scene, used sniffer dogs, made drone aerial recordings and investigated the neighborhood. Surveillance images were also viewed.
Nothing is yet known about the motive for the stabbing. The investigation is in full swing, police said.
