Witnesses wanted attempted robbery Almere

Almere – The police are looking for witnesses to an attempted robbery of a resident on the Ommelandvaart. This incident took place on Monday, April 24. Police arrested two men later that day for possible involvement in the attempted robbery. The police are still looking for a perpetrator and are asking for the help of witnesses.

Around 10.15 am, the police received a report that Monday morning that an attempt had been made to rob the resident on the Ommelandvaart. However, the woman managed to escape and called the police. The perpetrator(s) fled by car in the direction of Willem Bontekoestraat.

Arrests

The police started an investigation and surveillance officers saw the car of the suspected perpetrators parked on Oostvaardersplein on Monday evening. There were five men in the car at the time. Because it was suspected that a firearm was present in the car or with the occupants, all occupants were taken out of the car and arrested through a discussion procedure. Three men were immediately released after an investigation. A 17-year-old and 19-year-old man – both from Almere – are still detained for questioning and investigation.
