Education Minister Dennis Wiersma has shouted several times at officials and slammed doors. He also allegedly put employees under pressure. That is what several officials say to De Telegraaf. Through a spokesman, the VVD minister acknowledges that he has been ‘sharp and sometimes too fierce with officials’.
Since Wiersma took office as Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, he is said to have been shot several times. As a result, several employees would have resigned, officials say.
The ministry does not contradict the fact that officials have packed their bags for that reason. ‘On his own initiative, the minister entered into talks with the organization at the end of last year,’ says his spokesperson. ‘Good and instructive conversations have resulted from this and the minister will continue with those conversations.’
