René le Blanc sometimes gets tired of being an artist in his own country. He tells us: “In the Netherlands I regularly get so tired of all the comments people post about me on social media. Like I’m a jellyfish, comedian and narcissist and I can’t sing. I sometimes say to my wife Jolanda that I don’t understand what I did to deserve that, because I am really there for everyone.” When René describes it this way, it is not surprising that he turns his attention to Germany.
The singer dreams of a career with our eastern neighbors. However, there are some bumps: “My pronunciation of the German language could still be improved. I can make myself understood and understand everything, but some words need to be pronounced with a t. Another example: we say queen and there it is Königin, where you have to pronounce the g a little more. Jolanda speaks German very well and that is why we talk German for an hour a few times a week. I have already received compliments from Germans, so I am on the right track.”
