Reeuwijk – On Friday morning, April 28, the police fired one warning shot at the Ravensbergseweg when four men were arrested. These men were arrested red-handed in a home burglary. The electric shock weapon was also used in these arrests.
Around 2:45 a.m., the police received a report that a home on Ravensbergseweg was being broken into. Officers immediately cordoned off the area. Shortly after the report, officers saw the three burglars leave the house. The men wore balaclavas and in addition to the loot, one of the men also had a baseball bat with him. After the burglars saw the officers, they dropped their loot and fled.
Police helicopter deployment
In the search, the officers were assisted from the air by a police helicopter. Two suspects jumped into the water and were pulled over by officers, after which they were arrested. During the arrest of a third suspect, a short struggle ensued, an officer was punched in the face by the suspect. During the arrests, one officer fired a warning shot and a suspect was tasered. No one was injured in the process. A fourth suspect was arrested in a car parked in the immediate vicinity. Burglary tools were found with the burglars and the car was also seized. The four suspects, three from Gouda aged 23, 23 and 25 and one aged 24 from Eindhoven, are being held and are being heard.
