What can you expect today?
- Feyenoord supporters are preparing for their club’s championship celebration. If Feyenoord beats Go Ahead Eagles in De Kuip, it will be national champion for the 16th time. The kick-off is at 4.45 pm.
- In Rotterdam, the bombing of May 14, 1940 is commemorated. At Plein 1940, two minutes of silence will be held at the statue of Zadkine at 1.27 pm. Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb lays a wreath. Then the bells ring all over the city.
- In Turkey it is time for the parliamentary and presidential elections. The question is whether President Erdogan will remain in power now that opposition candidate Kilicdaroglu is doing well in the polls. A second round may be necessary.
- It is mothers day. According to Statistics Netherlands, there are almost 5 million mothers this year, 78,000 of whom are new.

Sweden has won the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool. Singer Loreen won with the song Tattoo. She received 583 points in total. Finland came second with 526 points, but received more points from the public.
Loreen is the second person to win the festival twice, and the first woman to do so. The Dutch Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper were already eliminated in the semifinals on Tuesday.
