Viral on TikTok: a very original way to watch Scream

“Do you like scary movies?” The film Scream has been on the minds since 1996. Glenn Eilbracht’s TikTok account proves that the horror classic can still do it despite the wafer-thin plot after all these years. He is currently going completely viral with his video in which the film is started in a very original way.

Scream’s films are so wrong that you usually don’t watch this film in complete silence in the cinema or in a company. One loves to point out the stupid choices the victims make, while another loves to scream every time the play’s villain, Ghostface, is on screen. Above all, it is just a wonderful slasher for which you don’t have a lot of brainpower to spare. Coke, popcorn and go.

At least, that is not always the case, because in Glenn’s TikTok video, which has already been viewed 31.8 million times, you can see what you have to do first if you want to watch the new Scream movie. You have to.. scream. Just as long and just as hard until the meter is full. Just give those vocal cords a fright: well, they then have just under two hours to recover. Unless you’re that person who screams for Ghostface every time of course.

If anything, it’s a really fun, creative way to kick off the new Scream movie. It’s Scream VI and many classic actors are back: David Arquette as Dewey, his ex Courteney Cox as Gale and Neve Campbell as Sidney. In addition, we also have many new people to welcome to this franchise: Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Jack Champion, Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving and Demi Levato.

We are not surprised that the new makers of the film are already hinting at a seventh part. The film series has already grossed more than 800 million dollars. And as you can imagine, it’s not the most expensive movie franchise to make. At least, not in terms of props and sets, because Courteney Cox will probably cost a lot of money. The original creator of Scream, Wes Craven, sadly passed away in 2015.

You would think that such a sixth part of a slasher film can be seen in a back room of the cinema somewhere at 10:00 pm, but that is not the case. The film can even be experienced in Dolby and 4DX. Whether you have to scream everywhere like Glenn, we don’t know. Fortunately, cinema halls are well insulated.
