Utrecht – On Friday morning, March 17, a woman’s bicycle was stolen around 09:45 in the vicinity of the Kanaalstraat. Bystanders know how to prevent it. Police are looking for the biker’s wife.
Around 09:45 a report comes in that a bicycle has been stolen from a woman in the Lombok district in the vicinity of the Kanaalstraat. The woman calls for help and bystanders go after the bicycle thief. During the pursuit, the suspect throws stones at his pursuers, among other things. He leaves the bicycle behind because of the pressure and after the officers are on the scene, the man can be arrested. The bicycle has not been found, nor has the woman who called for help.
Victim wanted
The suspect in this case is still in custody and the detectives are investigating. The detective would like to get in touch with the woman of the bicycle. They are also looking for more witnesses to the incident.
