Vehicle crashes at high speed

Around 10 a.m., officers saw the vehicle driving too fast on the A16 near Prinsenbeek. A stop sign is given at this point. The driver initially seems to follow, but eventually drives further onto the highway. The Traffic Team starts the chase around 10.15 am. The car drives at high speed on the A17, near Standdaarbuiten in the direction of Roosendaal. The police officers decide to call off the chase because the driver is endangering other traffic. A few minutes later the vehicle crashes on Wagonstraat. The vehicle collided with a passenger car and later also collided with a truck. The crashed vehicle caught fire, but was quickly extinguished.

The passenger got out of the vehicle with injuries. The driver fled the scene, but was apprehended a little later. This concerns a 34-year-old man, with no known place of residence.
