Two suspects arrested after robbery with violence

Wassenaar – The police arrested two 15-year-old residents of The Hague on Sunday, March 17, on suspicion of theft with violence. The victim, a 15-year-old boy from Wassenaar, was robbed of his phone and was beaten several times.

The Wassenaarder and a friend were walking along the Van Oldebarneveltweg to the bus stop on Sunday, March 17 around 5:30 PM when they passed a group of young people on the bridge. The two friends were waiting for the bus when the victim was suddenly attacked around 5:40 p.m.

Beaten and robbed

The Wassenaar resident saw three boys he had recently encountered on the bridge. Two of the three boys hit him and took off when a motorist drove by and shouted at the boys. The Wassenaar resident later saw that he had been robbed of his phone. The police were alerted and a search was conducted in the area for the three suspects. Two of them were arrested a short time later on Gravestraat.

Witnesses wanted

The victim suffered facial injuries and had to seek medical attention. The police are still investigating the third boy and have taken the two suspects into custody. They are being interrogated further. Witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police are asked to report via 0900-8844 or anonymously via 0800-7000.
