Groningen – The police have arrested two suspects for possible involvement in the shooting incident in Pelsterstraat on Tuesday, April 9. It concerns a 17-year-old boy and a 24-year-old man, both from Groningen. No one was injured in the incident.

On Tuesday, April 9, around 5:45 p.m., the police received a report of a shooting incident in Pelsterstraat, in which shots were probably fired with a firearm or an object that resembles a firearm. The two suspects then fled on foot in the direction of the main station and were later arrested elsewhere in the city of Groningen.

Research

The police immediately started an investigation on the spot. Trace investigations were carried out and discussions were held with local residents. The police then tracked down the two suspects on the Petrus Campersingel around 7:45 p.m. They were arrested there and taken to the station. They are still in custody and being interrogated.
