Two people were seriously injured in a shooting in Purmerend on Monday evening. According to police, both victims were taken to hospital in serious condition. The police are looking for the shooter(s).
The report of the shooting came in just before 8 p.m. Several units arrived on the scene, including sniffer dogs and a police helicopter. The police are forming a Large-Scale Investigation Team (TGO) and are looking for witnesses and images.
The shooting took place at the railway station. Due to the police investigation, trains temporarily do not stop in Purmerend. The NS uses buses. It is still unclear what exactly happened. Nothing is yet known about what caused the shooting.
