Two more arrests for ecstasy lab in Den Helder business premises


The police made two arrests on Friday in an investigation into a drug lab in Den Helder that was discovered on Tuesday. It concerns a 43-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman from Den Helder. Their role is being further investigated, police report. On the day itself, a 40-year-old man from Den Helder was arrested.

Hair studio

On Tuesday afternoon at 3.30 pm, the police, acting on a tip, entered the business premises on Marsdiepstraat. During the raid on the hair studio, the police discovered an operating synthetic drug lab. More than 100 kilos of MDMA (active ingredient in ecstasy) were found in the building. There were also more than 200 liters of MDMA-containing liquids in the building.

Cleared

Almost immediately, the surrounding shopping street was closed, the fire brigade was called in and surrounding buildings were evacuated. The fire brigade and police then conducted an investigation. The drug lab was dismantled and the items present were dismantled, removed and destroyed after the discovery.

During the discovery of the drug lab, a 40-year-old man from Den Helder was arrested. He is stuck.
