Two explosions took place in Rotterdam last night, causing damage and a fire. There were no injuries and no arrests were made.
Injury
Around 10:15 PM on Saturday evening there was an explosion in the Schaepmanstraat in Rotterdam-West. This is reported by RTV Rijnmond. The explosion caused significant damage, a police spokesperson said. Windows were shattered and doors flew off the house. Photos show the street is littered with shards of glass.
No one was arrested after this explosion. After the attack, witnesses reportedly saw two boys driving away on a scooter. The police are investigating, the regional channel said.
Fire
Later in the night, from Saturday to Sunday around 2:45 AM, there was an explosion at the front door of a house on Spechtstraat in Rotterdam-Charlois. This caused a small fire, reports ‘Rijnmond’. The residents were home, but were not injured.
This explosion took place less than two weeks after a previous attack on that address on October 25. The explosion shattered the window of a front door. The wooden plate that was subsequently placed on the door is still there, as can be seen in images taken after the attack.
