The police arrested two boys aged 15 and 17 on Tuesday night on suspicion of involvement in explosions in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. According to the police, their arrests ‘prevented another explosion on Bijlmerdreef’.
The residential complex on Bijlmerdreef was also the target of explosions last week. That happened on January 6, 8 and 9, always around the same time. No one was injured in those explosions. However, a window was destroyed and soot damage occurred.
The suspects arrested last night came into the picture after intensive criminal investigation into the circumstances of the explosions. Their exact involvement in the series of attacks is currently being investigated, the police said in a press release on Wednesday.
