Two arrests for Lichtewaterlaan explosion

Medemblik – On February 13, an explosion caused by heavy fireworks took place at a house on Lichtewaterlaan in Medemblik. On Tuesday, March 19, a 14 and a 15-year-old boy from Medemblik were arrested.

The explosive detonated in the front yard, causing no injuries. If the fireworks had ended up in the home, the consequences would have been many times greater. After the explosion on February 13, two people ran away in the direction of Korte Brake. The police called for images to be shared of the flight of these people. The suspects were recognized based on those camera images.

The boys from Medemblik were arrested and locked up at their home on Tuesday morning around 7 a.m. We cannot rule out that more arrests will follow.
