Bergen op Zoom – A 46-year-old man and a 15-year-old girl, both from Bergen op Zoom, were arrested by the police on Beursplein last night because they were seriously misbehaving.
Officers received a report of a fight on Beursplein on Sunday, April 7, 2024, around 4 a.m. It appeared to be quiet again on site. While officers were inquiring with a woman about the incident, a man arrived and immediately intervened in the conversation and no longer allowed the woman to speak. He called one of the officers a cancer monger after which he was arrested for insulting him. After his arrest, he resisted violently by kicking and shouting at the officers that he would kill them both.
Another arrest
During the commotion, a 15-year-old girl from Bergen op Zoom was also arrested for disrupting public order. She also insulted the officers and resisted arrest by kicking one of the officers in the legs. The police are investigating whether the two detainees were also involved in the earlier fight.
