Hoogerheide / Bergen op Zoom – Police, Royal Military Police, Customs and the Belgian police conducted a comprehensive traffic control on Thursday, November 16. This happened in Hoogerheide on Doelweg and in Bergen op Zoom on Gagelboslaan.
A total of 190 vehicles were checked during the checks, which took place between 3:30 PM and 9:15 PM. Special attention was paid to scooters and fat bikes.
The alcohol bus and roller bench from the Traffic team were present at both locations. Recognizable and unrecognizable police vehicles drove around Hoogerheide and Bergen op Zoom to escort vehicles to the checkpoints. Vehicles were also stopped at the locations themselves and taken to the control points for inspection. Speed was also checked using lasers.
A total of 42 traffic fines were issued for various violations and four people were banned from driving for driving under the influence. Further outstanding fines have been collected. In addition, 1 vehicle was also seized.
