British Customs seized a ton of cocaine floating in the English Channel, the British Home Office announced on Thursday.
The police were alerted on Wednesday morning to a number of floating packages in the sea. A Border Force and Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) ship located them and returned them to the port of Dover, on the south coast of England. In total, it concerns 1,000 kilos of cocaine.
An investigation into the shipment of cocaine is ongoing, according to the British Home Office. As far as is known, no arrests have been made.
