He is affectionately known in our country as the ‘cuddly Belgian’. Many are crazy about the travel programs of the Flemish presenter and actor Tom Waes (55). He will be making programs for public broadcasters in the Netherlands and Belgium for the next three years. This is part of the previously announced collaboration between the NPO and VRT.
The Undercover star is working for KRO-NCRV on a new season of his travel program Reizen Waes and on a new fiction series. “I am incredibly honored that in the coming years I will be able to make programs not only for Flemish, but also for Dutch viewers,” says Tom. “Of course I have been to our neighboring country before, thanks to Undercover or Reizen Waes. A few years ago I even got to know our northern neighbors very well in Reizen Waes Nederland. I am looking forward to this new collaboration: there are some very nice projects in the pipeline.”
The NPO and VRT announced last year that they would be working together. The collaboration should lead to, among other things, creating and exchanging programs and sharing technology and innovations.
