Tilburg: coffee shop shot at again and explosion at home


A coffee shop in Tilburg that had been targeted many times before was shot at on Saturday evening. An explosion also occurred at a home in the city on Saturday night. No one was injured.

On Saturday evening around 9.45 pm, a report was received that shots had been heard at coffee shop Caza on the Gasthuisring. When several surveillance units arrived on the scene, they saw that there was a bullet hole in one of the windows of the closed coffee shop. The coffee shop has already been the target of shelling, firebombs and Molotov cocktails seven times in two years. A hand grenade was also placed in front of the shop that did not go off.

According to investigators, it is still unclear what the motive for the attack is. The police are investigating the incident and are asking for help from witnesses and camera images.

Explosion

Hours later it happened again in Tilburg. At 3:50 am, the police received a report that there was an explosion at a house on Grubbenvorststraat. The explosion caused damage to the house. Residents were present in the house at the time of the explosion, including several children. No one was injured. There is no trace of the perpetrator(s). Nothing is known about a motive.
