Ede – The police arrested two men and a woman on the night of Thursday 4 to Friday 5 April on suspicion of briefly unlawfully depriving a 54-year-old man from Veenendaal and a 25-year-old man from Ede.
The victims were held in a house on Opaalstraat and threatened with a firearm. The suspects demanded money. One of the victims was released and called 112. Shortly afterwards, the police managed to put an end to the threatening situation with various services, including the Special Interventions Service (DSI). Two men and a woman were arrested at the home. This concerns the resident of the house, a 24-year-old woman from Ede and a 39-year-old man without a permanent place of residence. The other victim was found in the home. He was injured and was treated for his injuries in hospital.

The police are investigating what exactly happened and what the background to this incident is. A car was searched for this purpose. A firearm was found in the car.
