Geleen – An accident took place on the A76 on Saturday evening around 8 p.m. in which three people were injured and five cars were seriously damaged.
The collision took place on the A76 in the direction of travel from Stein to Heerlen. Five vehicles were badly damaged spread across all lanes. The entire highway was blocked.
The accident seriously injured a woman from one car and a woman and a baby suffered minor injuries. After investigation, a man from a second car turned out to have no injuries. The other occupants of the other cars were checked by ambulance personnel and were not injured.
It is very likely that a car, possibly the cause of the accident, drove away. It concerns a red Ford Fiesta with a Ukrainian license plate. The police are investigating the circumstances.
