More than four thousand Extinction Rebellion (XR) activists demonstrated for the sixth time on a section of the A12 in The Hague on Saturday 11 March. With the action, XR demands an immediate end to the annual 17.5 billion euros fossil subsidy. A group of healthcare professionals, including doctors, who support the climate action were also present.
One of them is Chiara Altruda, anios paediatrics (Franciscus Gasthuis & Vlietland). She has been active for XR for several years and talks about this in the Medisch Contact podcast, episode 11.
The enthusiasm to participate in climate protests is growing among healthcare professionals. This is also apparent from a report in the Volkskrant about the recent blocking action.
