“The roles are reversed: FC Twente is considering making an offer to Feyenoord”

In the search for a possible replacement for Vaclav Cerny, FC Twente ended up with Marouan Azarkan. This is reported by 1908.nl. The 21-year-old wing attacker seems to have little future at Feyenoord.

Azarkan will play on a rental basis this season with fellow townsman Excelsior, for which he scored three times and provided six assists in 23 Eredivisie matches. Nevertheless, a new chance at Feyenoord does not seem to be there, although he is still stuck in De Kuip until mid-2024.

FC Twente seems to want to take advantage of this. The new trainer Joseph Oosting is charmed by Azarkan and sees him as a suitable replacement for Vaclav Cerny. The Czech still has a contract until the summer of 2025 in Enschede, but there is a good chance that he wants to spread his wings. “I know that with my current performance there is interest from other clubs. There is also something going on, I know from my agent,” he previously told Voetbal International.

According to 1908.nl, there is therefore a good chance that Feyenoord will soon receive an offer from FC Twente. The clubs are no longer strangers to each other when it comes to conducting negotiations. Ramiz Zerrouki has been in the spotlight in Rotterdam for some time now. Incidentally, Azarkan is also followed by Udinese and Toulouse.
