Chimène van Oosterhout talks candidly in ‘Girlfriend’ about the loss of her parents and her other personal dramas: “I lost my father on Boxing Day 2021, my mother died a few months later in 2022. Twice a huge loss, there you go normally almost gone. My son Lyam first moved into a room and emigrated to Spain last August. I had to process that too. The nest now became very empty. And then I also have a body that doesn’t cooperate well. With cancer three times in twenty years and, to make matters worse, two serious heart failures this year. That could be an ounce less. Or rather: a few kilos less!”
