T-Mobile Netherlands and Tele2 Mobiel will continue under the name Odido from today. Ben, Simpel and Tele2 Thuis also belong to Odido, but those brand names will remain.
For the approximately 8 million customers of T-Mobile Netherlands and Tele2 Mobiel, not much will change other than the new brand name. The company says it wants to focus even more on plans with unlimited data. Other providers are already focusing on these subscription types.
Odido has 119 stores in the Netherlands and more than 2000 employees. The company informed employees today. The shops have been closed since Saturday for renovations.
Deutsche Telekom, which operates under the brand name T-Mobile, took over all shares from Ben in 2002 and later merged with the Dutch branches of Orange and Tele2. The Dutch branch of the company was sold to two American investment funds two years ago.
