What are you going to do
As a System Administrator at the Municipality of Tilburg you are responsible for managing, maintaining and optimizing our IT systems. You ensure that all systems run smoothly and that any malfunctions are resolved quickly and efficiently. In addition, you work closely with other IT professionals to implement new systems and applications and integrate them into the existing infrastructure. You provide support to users, solve technical issues and contribute to the continuous improvement of our IT processes.

Your specific tasks include:

  • Managing and maintaining the hybrid data center including VMware vSphere, VMware NSX and Microsoft Azure;
  • Implementing and managing backup solutions, storage systems and/or operating systems;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to optimize and scale the IT infrastructure to the needs of the Municipality of Tilburg;
  • Ensure a safe and reliable IT environment, including implementing security measures and conducting risk analyses;
  • Provide technical support to users and colleagues, solving complex problems quickly and effectively;
  • Documenting procedures, guidelines and system configurations to ensure a structured and well-documented IT environment.

Where will you work?
Our Technical IT Management team, within the Data, Information & Technology department, consists of 26 enthusiastic specialists with different expertise. We like to share our knowledge with each other and regularly organize quarterly drinks where we can relax together. Our organization is characterized by a pleasant working atmosphere with many possibilities, short lines of communication and an open culture where colleagues are always ready to help each other. Collaboration is of paramount importance to us. We work closely with various internal teams, such as application management, facilities and the sports company. But we also maintain pleasant cooperation with external partners, such as suppliers and Tilburg University.

That’s why we offer you the flexibility to work from home, at the office or on location, depending on what the work requires at that time. On Monday we organize an optional office day in the renovated and modern Stadswinkel, where you can collaborate with colleagues and share knowledge.

What are you bringing?
As a System Administrator at the Municipality of Tilburg, it is important that you enjoy sharing knowledge with colleagues and colleagues.   • MBO+ working and thinking level, with, for example, a background in Computer Science, Network and System Management, Computer and Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Technical Computer Science or IT management;
  • You have experience with various VMware products such as VMware vSphere and NSX-T;
  • You have knowledge of storage architecture, protocols and technologies, such as NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, deduplication, thin provisioning and snapshotting;
  • You have experience with backup and operating systems;
  • You are available 36 hours per week.

  • The position is classified in salary scale 9 with starting scale 8. Based on full-time employment, this is a minimum of €2,878 and a maximum of €4,752 gross per month. Depending on your experience and current situation, we will make you the best possible proposal within this bandwidth.
  • 194 hours of leave and the option to purchase a maximum of 187 additional hours of leave (based on full-time employment);
  • An individual choice budget of 17.05% on top of your salary. That you can use it throughout the year for, for example, extra leave, an extra payment, study, holiday pay or the purchase of an (electric) bicycle;
  • An employer contribution to the costs of health insurance;
  • A good pension scheme with ABP and a discount on disability insurance through Loyalis;
  • If you perform well, you will in principle receive a permanent contract after one year;
