A suspicious package was removed from a beauty salon in Utrecht this morning by the Defense Explosives Clearance Service (EOD). A resident of a nearby home was evacuated as a precaution during the EOD’s investigation.
A controllable robot was used in that research:
The package has now been taken and will be detonated in a safe place, writes RTV Utrecht.
In February, the saloon was shelled. In connection with this, the building was closed for thirty days by mayor Dijksma (PvdA). A company owned by the same owner in Laren (NH) was the target of shelling in January and a month later a suspicious package was taped to the window.
Earlier this month, the police arrested a 17-year-old boy from Utrecht for involvement in the shootings and the incident in Laren. The building is also now closed for thirty days.
