The police found a suspicious package in front of a beauty salon on the Brink in Laren on Friday morning. The package was removed and detonated in a safe location. According to NH News, another branch of the beauty salon was shot at Amsterdamsestraatweg in Utrecht last week.
Friday morning around 09.00 a report came in of a suspicious object at a building on the Brink in Laren. Due to a possible explosion hazard, agents have evacuated the area and the help of the Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) has been called in. They removed the package and detonated it in a safe location. The area was reopened around 12:00 PM.
The police immediately launched an investigation into the motive for the package. A neighborhood investigation is being carried out and camera images are also being checked to find out how and by whom the package was left there at night. Forensic investigation must show whether there were workable substances and whether there was an actual risk of explosion.
Building shot at
NH Nieuws writes that another branch of the beauty salon was shot at on the night of 9 to 10 February. That happened on the Amsterdamsestraatweg in Utrecht. Police have not yet said if there is a connection between the two incidents.
