In the night from Friday to Saturday, police officers arrested two burglars on a site in the port area of Vlissingen. The suspects are two Albanians. According to the police, they made a hole in a fence to get in. It is still unknown what they intended to do on the premises, but the police are investigating the possibility that the two wanted to take drugs off the premises or are involved in people smuggling.
Shortly after midnight, the police received a report that security staff had seen two burglars on a harbor site in Nieuwdorp.
Various police units surrounded the site and used police dogs to search for the suspects. Around 01:00, the first suspect, a 46-year-old man from Albania, was arrested. Shortly afterwards, a dog found the second suspect: a 40-year-old man from Albania.
Both men were arrested and taken to the station for further investigation. It turned out that the 40-year-old suspect has been spotted internationally.
