Landgraaf/Brunssum – After a brief investigation by the Human Trafficking – Human Smuggling Team, as part of the Limburg Aliens Police, three people were arrested in their homes on Tuesday 14 February as suspects of human trafficking.
The arrests were followed by two searches of the suspects’ homes in Landgraaf and Brunssum. The searches mainly focused on the seizure of data carriers that may contain information/evidence for further investigation. During these searches, a number of goods/materials originating from theft were seized. Furthermore, a stolen passenger car and more than 6 kilograms of hard drugs were seized, as well as three firearms (gas pistols) and a taser.
The arrested suspects, two men and a woman aged 58, 23 and 22 respectively, are in restrictions and are only allowed to maintain contact with their counsel. They will be brought before the examining magistrate on Thursday.
