Terneuzen – 2 men were arrested on Tuesday, September 5. They are suspected of having committed dozens of burglaries and multiple scooter thefts in Terneuzen in recent months.
The detective started an extensive investigation into more than 50 home burglaries and several scooter thefts, committed in the first half of this year. The stolen scooters were also used in the house burglaries in Terneuzen. On June 24, this already led to the arrest of four young men red-handed for an attempted burglary. After questioning, these suspects were released. After these suspects were apprehended, the home burglaries stopped.
The investigative team has continued with the investigation and has again arrived at two of the previously arrested suspects. Officers entered four addresses on Tuesday morning. The four homes were searched under the direction of an examining magistrate. Investigators seized several items. The suspects are now in custody and are being questioned. It concerns two men aged 18 and 19 from Terneuzen. More arrests follow.
