Suspected thieves arrested after high-speed chase

Customs arrested three thieves in Rotterdam’s Waalhaven during the night from Friday to Saturday. The three were trapped just after midnight after a high-speed chase and handed over to the police.

Demonstrate

The men probably wanted to pose as dock workers. Customs officers found work trousers, vests and work trousers in the car. Large black sports bags were also seized. This is probably where the drugs should be transported. The trio was probably looking for drugs at a company that stores empty containers.

Empty space

Smuggling via empty containers has been on the rise in recent years. Criminals hide relatively small batches of several tens of kilos of cocaine in an empty space near the engine that cools products in the container.

Sought

After the arrest at the Waalhaven-Zuidzijde, the Special Assistance Team of customs continued to search the port site. It is unknown whether they found drugs.

The three men are in custody: a 24-year-old man from Ridderkerk, an 18-year-old man from Dordrecht and a 27-year-old man of unknown place of residence.
