Amsterdam – The criminal investigation department recently arrested a suspect in the investigation into a violent street robbery earlier this year at Soetendaal. On Friday night, March 18, 2023, an Amsterdammer was robbed of his precious watch and telephone shortly after midnight in the Buitenveldert district by two unknown men. Two weeks after the street robbery, the detectives arrested one suspect, the other is still being sought.
The suspect arrested on Friday 31 March is a 20-year-old man from Amsterdam. He is currently in all restrictions and therefore no additional announcements are made about (the suspicions against) him. In the interest of the ongoing investigation, the arrest of this suspect could not be reported earlier.
