A 17-year-old suspect in two explosions has reported to the police after unrecognizable images of him were shown on the regional broadcaster.
Concerned
In the investigation program Team West of RTV West, images of two boys were shown on Tuesday, October 31. Those boys are suspected of being involved in two explosions in Zoetermeer. On Friday evening, November 3, one of these boys, a 17-year-old resident of De Lier, reported to the police.
Arrest
During the night of Monday 16 to Tuesday 17 October, two explosions took place in Zoetermeer. The first explosion was around 11 p.m., in Streefkerkstraat. The second took place around 11:25 PM in Ruivenstraat. No one was injured in these explosions. Homes were damaged by the explosions.
Opportunity
Images of the two suspects were shown in the Team West investigation program and via social media. Because the two boys are probably underage, their faces were made unrecognizable. The public prosecutor gave them the opportunity to report to the police. Their faces would be shown recognizable in the next broadcast.
After the call, one of the suspects came forward. This 17-year-old boy is still in custody and is being interrogated, the police said in a message on Sunday.
