German police have arrested a man for a stabbing at a gym in Duisburg, German media report. Four people were seriously injured in the knife attack earlier this week. The 26-year-old man was arrested by a special unit in his apartment in Duisburg.
In the late afternoon on Tuesday, a man attacked four men in the locker room of the fitness studio, probably with a large knife or a machete. The perpetrator then fled.

The German police distributed photos of the man on Friday, after which people reported with information. It is still unclear what the man’s motive is. According to research, the perpetrator and the victims do not know each other.
A 21-year-old man who was allegedly targeted in the attack was still in critical condition in hospital on Friday. The three other victims are now out of danger.
