Utrecht – The police arrested a 40-year-old man from Utrecht on Sunday, March 31, on suspicion of involvement in an incident that took place on Friday afternoon, March 29, around the Overvecht Shopping Center in Utrecht. A 66-year-old man was allegedly attacked by the now arrested suspect.
The incident happened that afternoon around 3 p.m. at a shop on Zamenhofdreef. The victim stated that another man shouted something discriminatory and that he was punched by the same man shortly afterwards. He filed a report and the police started an investigation. This investigation revealed the suspected identity of the suspect. This man then reported himself to the police this morning and was subsequently arrested. Police are investigating his involvement in the incident.
